The Henderson to unveil Hong Kong’s new sky-high dining scene

The Henderson, Central’s architectural landmark designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, is poised to elevate Hong Kong’s skyline dining scene with the launch of three innovative restaurant concepts.

Rolling out from this fall through late 2025, the project will promise a journey of taste and lifestyle that sets a new benchmark for the city’s culinary landscape.

Building on the success of Cloud 39, the all-glass banquet hall crowning the building that has captivated the city since its 2024 debut, this latest venue spans across the 5th, 38th, and 39th floors, offering a multi-level journey where dining and celebration merge against the city’s dazzling skyline.

A vertical culinary journey

The ascent will start on the 5th floor with the arrival of Akira Back, the acclaimed Korean-American chef with portfolios across 27 cities in the globe, including the Michelin-starred Dosa. Opening his first namesake Hong Kong outpost, Back will bring his signature flair of a creative fusion of Korean roots, Japanese precision, and American edge.

Designed by AB Concept, the restaurant’s interior design is expected to echo a culinary symphony, with artworks being created by Back’s mother, Young Hee Back, woven into the décor.

The journey will continue at Summit 38, a new sky-level dining and event hub with two distinct concepts opening this October. Peridot, designed by Studio Paolo Ferrari, will showcase terroir-driven cocktails paired with inventive vegetarian dishes in a sleek natural futurist setting of glass, marble, and music.

Alongside it, Hana no Kumo, helmed by Chef Ogawa Masaru – formerly of Michelin-starred kitchens in Kyoto, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, will present refined Kappo cuisine. HBA’s design draws inspiration from Japan’s four seasons, blending organic forms and dynamic lighting to create an immersive dining atmosphere, and the curated sake and wine program marries tradition with contemporary Kyoto flair.

Summit 38 will also feature new banquet facilities, making it an ideal venue for weddings and social gatherings.

Last, it will culminate once more at Cloud 39, where the city’s highest all-glass banquet hall will carry on hosting unparalleled events above the clouds, including galas, events, private celebrations, among others.

The Henderson will usher in a new chapter of dining, lifestyle, cultural and social center in Hong Kong.
